This Invitation for Prequalification follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project which was published in 'Procurement Opportunities' on 21 April 2010.

The State Road Service of Ukraine, Ukravtodor (the Employer) intends applying the proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Investment Bank [the Bank] toward the cost of Rehabilitation of the M06 Road.

The Employer intends prequalifying firms and joint ventures to tender for the following contracts (Phase Ia) to be funded from part of the proceeds of the loan:

• Repair of some 27 km of the road including roads, bridges, drainage and ancillary works. (Approximate chainage km 128+000 to km 101+000).

• Repair of some 32 km of the road including roads, bridges, drainage and ancillary works. (Approximate chainage km 101+000 to km 69+000).

• Repair of some 29 km of the road including roads, bridges, drainage and ancillary works. (Approximate chainage km 69+000 to km 40+000).

• Repair of some 26 km of the road including roads, bridges, drainage and ancillary works. (Approximate chainage km 40+000 to km 14+080).

The Works are situated to the west of Kiev and follow the line of the existing M06 road, between the cities of Kiev and Zhytomyr.

- Contract 1: The section km 128 + 000 - km 101 + 000 is situated between the beginning of Zhytomyr bypass and the beginning of town Korostyshev bypass.

- Contract 2: The section km 101 + 000 - km 69 + 000 is situated between the beginning of town Korostyshev bypass and the borderline of Zhytomyr and Kiev regions.

- Contract 3: The section km 69 + 000 - km 40 + 000 is situated between the borderline of Zhytomyr and Kiev regions and the turn towards village Kolonschyna.

- Contract 4: The section km 40 + 000 - km 14 + 080 is situated between turn towards village Kolonschyna and the beginning of Kiev - Chop Road (v. Ekaterinovka).

Qualified Contractors will be invited for tendering for the abovementioned Contracts or any combination thereof. It is anticipated that the work will take some 1.5 years and the anticipated contract award date is January 2011.

Prequalification and tendering for contracts to be financed with the proceeds of a loan from the Bank is open to firms and joint ventures of firms from any country.

Prequalification documents may be obtained from the address below upon payment of a non-refundable fee of 360 US Dollars (including VAT) or equivalent in a convertible currency payment (excluding charges for the bank transfer) being made to Ukrdorinvest. Payment may be made by bank transfer or the like. The prequalification documents will be despatched upon payment of the fee and an electronic copy in both English and Russian will be made available. If requested, the documents will be promptly despatched by courier and, in addition, electronically via e-mail but no liability can be accepted for loss or late delivery. Applicants should note that electronic version of the prequalification documents will be issued solely to facilitate preparation of prequalification applications. In the event of any query or discrepancy of any kind the hard copy will govern.
